Study with Bala
Born in a village nearby Auroville, Bala offers local knowledge with an international perspective thanks to his time living and working in Europe. As founder and lead instructor at Bala Yoga School, he personally teaches a minimum of 160 hours of each YTTC course.

Accredited Courses
Bala Yoga School is a registered yoga school (RYS) accredited by Yoga Alliance, meaning that your 200-hour or 300-hour yoga teacher training course certification (RYT 200 or RYT 500) will be internationally recognised and you’ll be able to teach yoga anywhere in the world.

Great day trips
Every Sunday is a free day, so you can take the time to explore the surrounding area, from the nearby beach to the city of Pondicherry, to UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the temples and monuments of Mahabalipuram.

Small class sizes
We limit the size of each YTTC group to 20 students in order to guarantee that we can be available to provide personal attention and guidance to each student. You’ll have the opportunity to get to know everyone in your group and form connections that can last a lifetime.

Classes taught in English
All of our yoga teacher training courses are taught in English, so wherever you are from in the world, you will be able to join us in Auroville and participate if you can speak and understand conversational English. We look forward to welcoming you!

Practical experience
Our curriculum is designed to help you build confidence and develop your own style. By the time you complete your YTTC at Bala Yoga School, you’ll have gained practical experience in teaching a yoga class yourself.
